What is Groovy Bee® Tart Cherry Probiotics made of?**

Made with only the highest-quality ingredients, our Groovy Bee® Tart Cherry Probiotics Drink Mix provides a nutritious and delicious beverage that has been specially formulated to support your health and well-being. It consists of tart cherry concentrate powder, isomaltulose, inulin and Lactobacillus fermentum (50mg, 5 billion CFU/2g). Our premium drink mix comes in convenient 2.5 gram sachets – each serving of which delivers 1500 mg of tart cherry complex and 50 mg of Lactobacillus fermentum probiotics. The tart cherry concentrate powder in our drink mix contains high levels of antioxidants that possess natural prebiotic properties. The prebiotic effect of the polyphenols can work synergistically with the probiotics to support your good overall health and well-being.

Tart Cherry Concentrate Powder**

Also known as sour cherries, tart cherries are the small, bright red fruits that grow on the tart cherry plant (Prunus cerasus), which is native to certain parts o Europe and Asia. Tart cherries have a unique polyphenol composition, which includes chlorogenic acid, in particular. This unique polyphenol mixture allows tart cherries to have up to five times higher antioxidant levels than other cherry varieties. Other potent antioxidants in tart cherries include quercetin, ellagic acid, proanthocyanidin, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, carotenoids, anthocyanins and vitamins A, C and E. Tart cherries also contain vital nutrients, such as fiber, copper, manganese, potassium, calcium, protein, folic acid, magnesium, iron, zinc, vitamin K and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Lactobacillus fermentum (50mg, 5 billion CFU/2g)**

A naturally-occurring component of the human microbiota, Lactobacillus fermentum is a Gram-positive lactic acid bacterium that is commonly found in the human. A member of the Lactobacillus genus, this probiotic bacteria is frequently utilized to help make sourdough, contributing to the sourdough's overall flavor and texture. When added to food, the Lactobacillus fermentum bacterium can help support the optimal bioavailability of certain nutrients, such as calcium, phosphorus and zinc. Furthermore, it has shown great potential for use in food preservation.

Isomaltulose**

Produced from sucrose via enzymatic arrangement, isomaltulose is a naturally-occurring disaccharide that is composed of sucrose and glucose. Frequently found in honey and sugarcane extracts, it is often utilized as a healthier sugar substitute for sucrose in many food items, beverages and health products. This is likely due to its natural sucrose-like sweetness profile but with a lower glycemic index, half the sweetness level and no aftertaste. Isomaltulose also has promising prebiotic potential since it naturally supports the growth of probiotics, such as Lactobacillus fermentum.

Inulin**

Inulin is a soluble dietary fiber that is created by plants that use it as an energy source. While is it most often extracted from chicory root, inulin can be found in plenty of fruits, whole grains, roots, herbs, vegetables and over 36,000 different plant species. This starchy substance is often used as either a sweetener or as a fat substitute in margarine and salad dressings. As a fermentable fiber, inulin possesses prebiotic properties and is used as food by your friendly gut bacteria. According to a 2020 systematic review, inulin has great potential in naturally supporting the growth of Lactobacillus bacteria, such as Lactobacillus fermentum. Inulin can also support the optimal bioavailability of certain nutrients, such as calcium.
